[Luk 8:22-25 CSB]
22 One day he and his disciples got into a boat, and he told them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” So they set out,
23 and as they were sailing he fell asleep. Then a fierce windstorm came down on the lake; they were being swamped and were in danger.
24 They came and woke him up, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to die! ” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. So they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 He said to them, “Where is your faith? ” They were fearful and amazed, asking one another, “Who then is this? He commands even the winds and the waves, and they obey him! “
Two miracles: 1) Jesus asleep while wet. 2) Calming the storm.
Look at 3 times Jesus speaks:
1) Let’s go to the other side of the lake.
2) Tells the storm to be quiet.
3) Where is your faith?
What Jesus speaks is going to happen.
Even a casual statement: Let’s cross the lake.
Disciples were looking at the storm. The fishermen knew about the danger.
Boat filling with water.
We are going to die!
Ep 16 – Dominion
Jesus used power of Holy Spirit & authority of a man to calm the storm.
Scared the disciples more than the storm.
Where is your faith?
Truth: What Jesus/Spirit/Father speaks will be done.
Amos 3:7 ~ Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.
Past 2 years God has raised up many prophets. All say a storm is coming.
Patriots are saying the same thing.
Difference: The prophets say we will come out on the other side better than we can imagine.
Action: Hold on through the storm. Trust the word God has spoken through his prophets.
