[Mat 25:29 KJV]
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
This comment from Jesus always hit me as sounding harsh.
“If you’re a winner, you’re going to win more.”
“If you’re a loser . . . too bad for you.”
Jesus made this statement in the context of a parable – talents / sower & seed
Parable: 10 talents, 5 talents, 1 talent
Talent = $1,200,000
Master expected an increase.
Servants had absolute freedom to do business.
2 made a profit — were rewarded.
1-talent servant: “I knew you were a greedy Capitalist.
I kept it safe.
Jesus parable: “This is what the kingdom of heaven is like!”
Truth: As children of God, we are in his kingdom.
Parables of Jesus: Kingdom of heaven is about increase, growing, moving forward.
As part of God’s kingdom, we should be doing the business of the kingdom.
Lord’s prayer: Your kingdom come, on earth as in heaven.
Past episodes — Holy Spirit in us to provide “talent” — authority and power.
Action: Dig in to what the Bible says about who you are in the kingdom of God. Talk to the Holy Spirit about your assignment in the kingdom as a child of God
